Born in Paravoor, a small town in Ernakulam District in Kerala, Balachandran Chullikad has devoted himself to poetry right from childhood. His first book of poems, Patinettukavitakal, was published in 1982. Nurtured in the grand epics of India as well as the canons of international modernism, He has published six collections of poetry and a book of prose.
